Difficulty in talking to new people, held back at work because you are unsure of your abilities, negative thoughts about yourself, shyness. These are some of the effects of low self confidence. You may be perfectly confident in some situations – some people are extremely confident in their workplace but shy in social situations.
Although self esteem is a part of self confidence it is not the same. Self esteem is about valuing yourself as an individual, self confidence also includes being assured of your abilities and taking a balanced view of possible outcomes – or not being scared of making a fool of oneself so that you an enjoy the experience, whatever it might be. Self Confidence is intrinsically about being confident in one’s ability to cope with any outcome.
Your self confidence is affected by what happens to you and how you interpret it. Your self talk can make a positive experience or a negative experience out of any situation – just think of the difference, and we hear people saying these things all the time, between saying to your self “You stupid idiot!” and “That was stupid!” – anyone can do stupid things but it doesn’t make them stupid.
Self confidence is at the heart of many other issues and improvement in your self view will affect every other part of your life for the better.
Hypnotherapy & Self Confidence
Hypnotherapy is one of the quickest ways to change your thinking about yourself because we can embed those changes directly into the subconscious.
Hypnosis is used to target negative subconscious feelings and it works by replacing them and enforcing positive thoughts and emotions. Hypnosis reprograms any anxiety or doubt you may feel and helps you think in a more positive and confident way. Some of the tools we can use involve visualizations of confidence, both feeling confident and visualizing being confident and relaxation training to reduce any fears or anxiety.
Regression Therapy & Self Confidence
A great deal of self talk comes directly from things that were said to you as you were growing up. If you hear those things that to you say to yourself, you can almost hear someone saying it to you – a parent, older sibling, the school bully... These thoughts become so much a part of ourselves we forget, or ignore, where they have come from and even add others that are of the same type. Regression can take you back to the source of these thoughts and self talk and deconstruct them and their effects.
Regression to a Past Life can find a deeper memory of where some of these thoughs come from. Often the last thought or feeling that you had in a previous life can be a repeated thought or feeling in this life but without the frame of reference. A final thought of “They are going to kill me” can lead to a life of being defensive, feeling people are out to get you, even to a fear of people. A last feeling that you failed to do something can leave you with a lifetime of feeling that you are a failure (which you will then prove to yourself by noticing every time you don’t succeed and ignoring occasions when you do) when you uncover this we can transform it.
